I began my dancing journey aged 5, at a local dance school in Essex, studying under Patricia Prime and Wendy Headford.
Aged 12,I was accepted into The Royal Ballet School, White Lodge.
During my first year Richard Glasstone chose me to dance the role of “the other girl” in Songs and Stories, a ballet he created for the annual Summer performance.
I was also personally selected for a pointe-work master class by Dame Ninette de Valois.
In 1983 I danced one of the three Lettuces in Pas de Legumes for the school performance at Sadler’s Wells Theatre.
I was also chosen by Sir Frederick Ashton to create the role of Princess Elizabeth, in what was to be his swansong, The Nursery Suite, for a birthday gala in honour of the Queen Mother.

As an Upper school student I worked with Sir Kenneth MacMillan recreating Winter,
from his ballet The Seasons, for the annual performance.
My class coaches at that time were Svetlana Beriosova, Julia Farron, Irina Jacobson,
Dame Alicia Markova, Dame Monica Mason and Michael Soames.
I represented the school, alongside Adam Cooper,
at a private lunch with HRH Princess Margaret
for the “Buy a Brick” campaign raising money for the new ballet studios.
Aged 17, I was one of four students chosen by Sir Peter Wright to go on an 8 week tour of the Far East with the former Sadler’s Wells Royal Ballet Company.
In 1989, I graduated into The Royal Ballet Company after dancing The Gypsy Girl in the Two Pigeons.
During my time in the company, I was promoted to soloist and assistant ballet mistress. I was privately coached by Sir Anthony Dowell, Natalia Makarova, and Dame Monica Mason, working closely with numerous guest choreographers to The Royal Ballet Company both as a soloist dancer and assistant ballet mistress; with David Bintley creating roles in Cyrano and the Winter solo from The Seasons, with Wayne McGregor for Chroma and Infra, with William Tuckett, both as a dancer in Taming of the Shrew and as ballet mistress for Timecode. I danced with and alongside many eminent dancers; Carlos Acosta, Darcey Bussell, Alina Cojacaru, Lesley Collier, Jonathan Cope, Viviana Durante, Wayne Eagling, Sylvie Guillem, Johan Kobborg. Nicholas LeRiche, Irek Mukamehdov, Marianela Nunez, Michael Nunn, Tamara Rojo, William Trevitt,
Roles include Myrtha, Queen of the Willis; Katia, Month in the Country; Helena, The Dream; Lead Harlot, Romeo & Juliet; Lescaut's Mistress, Manon; Mercedes, Don Quixote; Fairy Godmother, Cinderella; Lead couple, La Valse; Winifred Norbury, Enigma Variations; Arabian Dancer, The Nutcracker; Diamond Fairy, Sleeping Beauty; Prayer, Coppelia.
Solo Swan, Acts Two and Four, Swan Lake; Lead Hungarian, Raymonda; Solo girl, Galantries;
I also presented many lecture demonstrations for the Education department visiting Children’s hospitals, care homes
and schools around the country.
2003 created a dance for Grade 6 syllabus I.S.T.D, passed Associate examination Distinction.
2003 ran the London Marathon raising £2000 for Children’s Liver Disease Foundation.
2004 awarded Fellowship I.S.T.D
2005-2008 set up I.S.T.D scholars programme with Francesca Filpi,
also presented numerous pointe-work lecture demonstrations for the faculty.
2008 guested on a private tour with Carlos Acosta in Valencia.
2010 retired as a professional dancer.
2013 gained Level 6 Diploma in Dance Pedagogy:
a QCA accredited qualification.
2014 Invited by I.S.T.D to coach teachers at a summer school,
The Morning Star Foundation in Beijing.
2015 taught advanced level competition class,
at I.S.T.D 50th year anniversary of their annual ballet awards.
2019. Asked by the Sir Frederick Ashton Foundation
to join the Ashton shadowing scheme to become an Ashton répétiteur.
2023. Completed R.A.D Benesh Movement Notation for Ballet course.
